The upcoming City of Grapevine Bond Election on November 7 includes a project to renovate and expand the current shelter building.  The Bond Election will not result in a tax rate increase.

The Animal Shelter renovation and expansion would enhance the environment for all sheltered animals while providing safe working conditions for the caretakers. Enhancements would ease and improve cleaning and maintenance of all pet kennels and provide additional space for the health, safety and comfort of the animals, staff and volunteers. The original shelter was built in 1992 and is 2,856 square feet. The expanded/renovated shelter would be 9,664 square feet and remain at the same location. The total cost of the project is $3.9 million.
