Juvenile Firesetter Intervention

The nationwide juvenile firesetter intervention initiative was started in response to an increasing number of fires started by youth throughout the country.

The City of Grapevine Fire Department in partnership with Tarrant County and Texas State Fire Marshals Office, offers a program to help ensure juvenile firesetting behavior is addressed as appropriate within Grapevine. Fire Prevention staff members reach out to the youth and parent(s) residing within the City of Grapevine to work on correcting the unwanted behavior of fire setting.

This program is designed for a one to one fire safety class for the child and the parent(s). Participation in the program does not create a record of the child and all materials are kept confidential.

If your child or you know of a child between the ages of 3-14 that has started a fire or is playing with fire, please call 817.410.4400 for information about youth fire setter intervention opportunities.
