What do I need to get a card?
Fill out a short application form at the circulation desk: full name, home address, telephone number, date of birth, proof of address or property ownership, driver’s license number and signature.
Do I have to live in Grapevine to get a card?
An annual $25 non-resident fee is charged for patrons living outside Grapevine. Cards are free for Grapevine residents. Property owners in Grapevine may get a free library card upon showing us a current Grapevine property tax bill. GCISD employees may also get a free card with school ID.
How old do you have to be to get a card?
Children under 18 may be issued cards if accompanied by a parent or guardian with a photo ID and proof of current address.
Can I still check out books without my library card?
Yes. You may use your driver’s license.
My child goes to a GCISD school. Can they get a free library card?
If your child does not live in Grapevine an annual $25 nonresident fee is charged.
When are items due?
All items are due three weeks from the day they are first checked out.
How much for late items?
The Library no longer charges extended use fees. However, if materials are not returned or lost, the original cost of each item will be charged to the cardholder's account.
Is there a limit on the number of items I check out?
There is no limit on the number of items patrons may check out.
Do I need a library card to use the computers?
If you do not have a library card, you can request a computer Guest Pass at the Reference Desk.
Do you have free WiFi?
We have free WiFi onsite at the library. The account name is library_guest and there is no password.
Does the library accept book donations?
The Grapevine Public Library accepts book donations on Thursdays from 10 am to 9 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. We do not accept magazines. Please bring your donations to the doors on the south side of the library near the Convention Center. Ring the doorbell located next to the doors and we will assist you. Donated materials may be incorporated into our collections, sold by our Friends group, or recycled. Once donated, materials become property of the library.
Can I reserve a study room?
Study Rooms are on a first come, first serve basis. We do not take reservations. We currently have 4 study rooms, which can fit 4 people in a room. We do not have meeting rooms available. Please check with our neighbors at the REC and the Convention Center for room rentals.
